
John Young, tenor has performed with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra
Chorus and Chamber Chorus (under Robert Shaw), Roswell Lyric Opera, and made his
debut with the Atlanta opera in 1998 in La Traviata. Earlier this
season he sang Arnalta in Opera Omnia’s highly acclaimed New York production of
The Coronation of Poppea. He has recently been seen as Rodolfo in
La Boheme with Peachtree Repertory Opera, Alfredo in La Traviata
with Capitol City Opera, and Tamino in The Magic Flute with New York
Opera Forum. In 2000 he made his Atlanta Symphony Orchestra debut in Kurt
Weill’s Seven Deadly Sins with Audra McDonald. Mr. Young was the
winner of the 2001 Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions for the state
of Georgia. Since moving to New York, John has appeared as a soloist with
the Trinity Wall Street Choir, Marble Collegiate Choir, New York Virtuoso
Singers, The Collegiate Chorale, Grace Episcopal Church, and the Regina Opera.
He has performed all over Europe and at the prestigious Edinburgh festival in
La Didone with the Wooster Group. In 2010 John will perform Ernesto in
Don Pasquale with Regina Opera.
